Four score and seven years ago
our founding fathers built this country
from the ground up with their bare hands
for what... for people to be free?
Well nowadays, there’s not much standing for anything
because we are too busy sitting around
wishing things will change.
We sit back and let other countries stand, and rain all over us.
Us. You S. US. United States.
United but we refuse to fight our own battles.
Battles homelessness, battles poverty, battles healthcare,
battles education, battles – murder by cop.
United but we are slowly becoming unrecognizable to each other discounted lives in uncounted persons cracking, stretching, crumbling like Pangaea inching further apart from a goal we call the future.
We should be standing up, standing out, to make us a greater US. United States America land of the free
home of the brave...
We should all be brave and save our dying country
colluded with hatred, infected with this respect
with no respect for the system of supply and demand.
This country is feeding us. We are biting our own hand
save the fairgrounds, we call the fairgrounds
so it does become a Ground Zero,
fallen soldiers topple down from power like tragic heroes,
being tossed down the hierarchy of American status and wealth.
Save this land we call home so we don't become nomads
with this illusion path and uncertain future
is not sure where our next settlement will be,
but guaranteed to be displaced by our conscious,
because it just doesn't seem right.
Our pastors aren't always green, but we won't grow
until we decide to take the time to water us, our own.
US. U – S. If we unite our nation, we can find a better way
to decrease confrontation without decreasing lives.
If we unite, we wouldn't have to hide from each other in the night, Instead we'd be each other's night ready to take on the battle called life, protecting our rights, shielding each other from death, preventing one another from walking into the light too soon.
Shining smile is not armor
arms with love not guns
we wouldn't need automatics cause
we would work manually to make this a safer place
we wouldn't need guns to revolve because our problems
would already be solved by us
pause: imagine that, you, with a gun,
or maybe your daughter or son, this weapon
of mass destruction in hand, locked, loaded, pressed against someone's throat, come on, can you do it? Take a deep breath,
stand your ground, this is what power feels like,
are you ready? Stop! Play.
Not by cops, not by blocks, no AK-47, no 32, no caliber
of any measure whatever puncture another body.
It shouldn't matter your social status
or how your melanin
main titles you to an opinion
that may come across as ambiguous bigotry
we're all people
we’re all human
we all make mistakes, don't let one of them be
without an open mind, only seeing black and white,
forgetting to shade with the gray
a place where nothing makes sense
but everything is calm and humanity
is in harmony.
